Upgrade Script

How hard would it be to make upgrade scripts for say 5.4.1 to 5.6 or 5.1 to 5.4 what would one have to do to make a script or how could one manually upgrade without data loss?

best thing to do is create and empty database and drop in users and torrents and then compare what changes there is in the tables and change to match. Then install the new one and delete the users and torrents tables and add in the matched ones. Also make sure u backup all your images, torrents that u want to keep so they match up with your db.
