It's suggested that you do not remove the pin, but it is possible, and has been done. However, I have no experience with that. Although, I think francisco23 removed pin on version 4.3. You're using 5.4.1 so I wouldn't be using his, however, if you're feeling up for it, you can do a comparison match, here is the thread where you find his edited files.
