First of all, I want to say, that site isn't monetized, I sometimes allow to place ads for money, and donations from users keep this site running.
I started this type of project long time ago, i did it for fun and to get some more experience in php, mysql, c++ and in *unix, spent many, many hours in coding/optimizing.
Site is highly customized to fit on low-end servers, You can even run it on server which coast like 10$ in month.
