Thanks for replying.
I copied the files to /var/www and chmod'ed the file permissions to 777.
But when I access localhost/setup/index.php
It returns a 404.
(Do I need to point something towards localhost or create a database and user in PHPmyadmin or anything like that?)

Open up httpd.conf (in your Apache/conf directory), find DocumentRoot and set it to be your the directory where you want your web site root. If you are migrating from IIS you can put something like this:

DocumentRoot "c:/inetpub/www (dir to www)"

Hey there,
Edited the documentroot to point towards /var/www but it still doesnt work this time it displays a 500 error.
P.S. It would be nice if you could share your IRC info or messenger, anything like that coz it will help me resolve this issue quicker[Just gimme 10 mins of your precious time :-)]

joeroberts 30th April 2013 22:19

http 500 error is a internal error.

A majority of these issues sound like server configuration issues, rather than the source code.

If you could let us know your exact requirements, current os, etc we would be much better advised to help you.

Massive credit to Joe for being so patient (no disrespect, but he really doesn't need to be bothered with this).

Kind regards
Phogo

Yea Joe is really a great guy(Props to him for keeping up with my stupid questions), my friend hooked me up with some servers where I'm now hosting the site and everything went great.

Bump: Oh I did a somewhat major mistake , I didnt pay attention to the disabling captcha part and now it doesnt allow me to login , any fixes?
And how shall I make the tracker a public one(or is it public by default?)
Thanks a lot in advance.

to disable captcha go into data base to torrent_config and set gfx_check to false
to make site public you do this in admin=>settings

Hey Joe,
Thanks for replying.
It has a privat mode option and I gotta disable that to make it a public tracker, right?

joeroberts 1st May 2013 14:27
