All source codes need coding.
The base code is just that, a base code.
It comes with what the creators think you will need, to run a site.
As your site develops you realize you need this or that adding.
It comes down to personal preferences.

The best questions when it comes time to choose your base code.

How good are the support forums.
Is the support free.

TorrentStrike fully modded code :
Is insecure - but that is an easy fix.
Support is free and there is plenty of it.

Can the same be said for TSSE ??

Do you want the site open to public ? so they do not need to login to view pages Eg. browse.php... and so on?

Help

Yup i would like site open to public except the uploading torrents!!

fireknight 27th August 2013 23:55

A member at Torrent Strike forums has just asked the same question.
More than likely yourself under a different name.
And to quote my answer there, just in case 2 different people want the same thing.

You are opening a hugh can of worms for your self.

Remove the loggedinorreturn(); function from all the pages you want the general public access to. You will have to go through all the files and remove things like if (get_user_class() >= UC_USER) as well where you want the general public access.

Not to mention removing the ratio from downloads, because it would not be fair to have members keep a ratio, when anyone can download a file and then hit and run.

Thanks!!

Thanks for the info and the other one who may have asked you is not me

Forum Installation wont work.

Hello out there. Thats my first reply on a thread and i hope i used the search function properly, but i did'nt find a solution for my Errors.

After i'm installing with admincp.php i click to Forum and then "phpBB its not installed, install it now" after that, the URL to "phpBB2/install/install.php" is opening but it only shows the following in the attachement.

after that i'm also not able to run admincp.php again. It only asks me to login, but after klick login the site is just reloading.

I really appreciate your help, thank you.

Cheers

tihozh hi, so after you install the tracker , you go to
Code:

www.yourtracker.com/phpBB2/install/install.php
end is not opening? or you have install the forum phpbb2 end then the tracker is reloading?
