Depending on which update your running ? I think you wont have to now - if you check root you'll see error.php and there will be entrys on the htaccess for those errors - i built a custom error handler from code a member posted on Tbdev :) Theres newer updates of this code available , far more optimized and advanced than any version posted here and now its combined with pdq's admincp mod so it runs all config from file and gives you superb control - i also added extra stuff into that , it has a new shoutbox command system which was just completed last night and much more and is now a very quick code , security has been stepped up as well with another full sweep over the files checking for possible injection points or xss cross scripting vunerabilitys , the error notices are now minimal and i also built a new optimized cleanup.php well most the code on it i have re-written and that goes for the whole source as well lol - its nearly all xhtml valid and i began changing print to echo where applicable for speed gains which might be minimal but it all counts - So to cap it off its still in heavy development.

And where can I find your latest update?

The last update i done was Beta4 and if you follow my sig link on Tbdev then you'll find the torrent on my test server which has the latest update.

Guys these are pretty basic things - I can't support this during the day as i work full time - Fynnon posted my developement server url at the top of the page - i suggest you signup there and become involved then you guys can assit new users here and the cycle starts all over . If you really want to use/learn this source code we will help anyone that needs it and we try to push you to learn so you know what to do, there is memebrs that started new like you on there every day now that have progressed quite well :)

Have you tried turning error reporting OFF use core.php to do this I believe?

but when i turn off error reporting,its not just hide the error ?

Just as krypto says turn error reporting off - error notices and warnings are just that - they dont stop code running - its just the way some coders write mods - undefined indexes are simple fixes either add a global or add isset before the variable - if you dont know what i mean turn error reporting off and forget about them - undefined varaibles are easy fixed as well usually by a simple

above that variable - thats just an example - i know how to take care of them and i dont expect relatively new coders to understand judging from your post thats not a snipe just fact mate - easy stuff and i aint going through every coders mods patching stuff that should have been done when they created the mods untill im pushing out a final stable release - If error reporting disablement from core.php aint working then you have a issue with your set up again not my problem just like undefined indexes and variables - yeah they may slow code a little but trust me take any source code and turn it on and be shocked when you see the level of errors even in a default code :) So sit tight if you cant work those out and wait for the final stable release - But that admincp works perfectly with error reporting on or off - if you dont believe me ask the majority of guys using it and theres plenty now.

What was updated - pratically the full source - any half decent coder would know that - im not here to sit and write change by change thats insane due to the amount of changes - optimizations - security patches - if you want to know then use kdiff and compare - anyway im to busy building the source to even care about it - They guys that contibute and work with me on my test server know exactly whats happening end off. How do you expect a source code to be written if im wasting my time writing poxy change lists for people that are so lazy they cant even check files - i wont say no more on the matter i suggest you do the same :)

Then I suggest you learn to read the changelog or even checkout the latest svn

d; and made a post. (oh, and downloaded the old archive in the first place, matter of fact)

so where's the problem to c&p that part of the change log and put it in the post and THEN upload the entire post???

Maybe because they feel that you as and end user should take some responsibilty for keeping your site or whatever upadted and the fact they they are still busy constantly improving the source for the end user and that this is not in fact the official forum for the source itself does that answer it maybe you should actaually try going to the official site where its being developed if you want to be kept up to date in real time otherwise dont moan cos yer to lazy to have a read and look for yerself

well i DID dl the archive and looked for my self but there is no changelog in it, there is a readme yes but thats all

Hello, I would like to keep this function in for security, however is it at all possible you can inform me on what to edit in the maxcoder.php or bittorrent.php to stop the banning.

I have added all the relevant nicks into the maxcoder page which was written to staff names and id successfully and saved, but still I get the error.

I have tried to comment the whole block the function calls for in bittorrent.php and took the maxcoder file out of the picture. All i get is a white page.

BTW this code rocks :)

Some advice for a relative n00b would be great tyvm in advance.

Linux or windows ? - Default userclasses or added anymore ? - As the function looks for your minimum staff class and also covers the max class on the site which prevents account hijack to super class or staff period if not authorized, which will be 4 and 7 on the default release which you set on bittorrent.php - If its saving those changes and you have the usernames for max class and userid's for under max class only then the system should work perfectly - The function can be changed - the ip ban can be removed from it by commenting it out and the disablement could be changed to a warning only by changing the query - Post the block if you dont understand the changes needed or even better join my test server - Fynnon posted the url few pages back - from there we can help you better and you learn more about the source direct from me.

From what you are saying the function is still in default, so in theory it should work, however its still banning any user that gets promoted. My staff are logging as users and its when i try to promote that causes the problem. I have tried to change it in the Sql DB, but this as I suspected was also picked up as a hack..lol

Can you tell me whats needed, and yes i will join the test site ty.

Thats it altered now - querys i changed disabled = yes to warned = yes - I have removed the ip ban function from it, easy added back though its only a few lines you can see from comparing both blocks - Remember if any staff have fallen foul of it you need to delete those entrys from the bans table - See when it saves - if you refresh your page after the save using the refresh link does it show the new additions ?
