MyTSP [ON HOLD]
 

Ok since im going to be starting on v5 "AGAIN" im also going to be changing the name of torrentstrike to "MyTSP" My Torrent Strike Portal

Reason for changing name is simply because i wanna start a fresh with the v5 and dont want it to confuse people like it use to do when xam suddenly started renaming his source to "ts special edition" and there for the only thing it did was make people confused to if ts = torrentstrike or templateshares so now MyTSP is going to be the new name for torrentstrike :)

Dont expect MyTSP to be posted anytime soon since its only in early stages and ive still got to finish of the installer atm since its going to be a very easy source to install and it wont include a phpbb2 or phpbb3 forum with it but there will be a option to allow them if you wish not to use the currently included default forum thats included with it :)

Will MyTSP have the same theme system as torrentstrike ?

atm yes but im currently looking in to the wordpress theme system and also e107 theme system to see how much work it would take to have such a theme system used on MyTSP :)

There will be a new site opened up soon that will still support torrentstrike v4 , nzbstrike , multistrike (which will all be renamed soon on svn)

torrentstrike fullymodded versions are outdated and wont be supported unless you get support from here for it.

Im currently still looking for somebody with experience in xbtt since im planning on wanting to have v5 to be a xbtt option aswell

Will the DB carry the same layout/similar layout to make migration possible for the more experienced users or maybe a upgrade script

yeah the DB will be more than surely the same as what torrentstrike v4 is using now but i will update if anything changes :)

the source is not going to be packed with useless features that a more experienced user wouldnt want included but at the same time its still going to have the most needed features :)

things like arcade , bonus points , freeleech , etc wont be included since its only going to be a bare basic source thats easy for everybody to add there own things to it .

there is going to be a new layout also which will include a dark theme and a light theme since i noticed alot of people was requesting for a dark version of the icgstation theme :)

i find somebody that comes along and makes a comment like that is just as lame :)

will this be powered with the latest tbdev version?

pdq you should know by now that if you are going to be making a fresh start on a source then its got to be using the latest tbdev svn file :P lol

yeah im going to be using the latest svn code as a base but im going to be also changing a couple of things at the same time since its pointless really just having a total 100% copy of tbdev code and just sticking another theme system on it and then calling it mytsp :P

ive got many idea's what i want to add to it and remove but its always the best option to keep it basic and much easier to support that way then :)

But the name, well it works but i would suggest something more catchy and/or fun (that can also have a maskot?). I believe until the release you will come up with something better. Off cource you make the final call.:drink:

well ive yet to buy the domain name and that will be the last thing i do before the site ready so ive still got time to rethink of the name but i still think MyTSP is a good name lol

but im always open to new suggestions on the new name :)

I like TSP (Torrent Strike Portal) simple without the "My" personalization
Should it be a new name or do you want to keep the Torrent Strike part...TSP sounds good

i think TSP looks better than myTSP.

If thats the name, yeah just TSP is nice. Also consider "Torrent Strike Engine" - TSE

Great news that you are coming back with V5 and the name doesn't bother me it's your choice at the end of the day as long as it is marked with whatever you want on it then thats fine as long as people know it came from you and you can take credit for it. :)

Terminator the name hasnt been changed yet (on svn) but once i ask for th ename change it will become TSP or MyTSP :)

Prl3k the source isnt anywhere near ready yet and i wont be making it multilanguage due to it being a english project so i wont be needing any translators thanks :)

im currently still looking for a brand new design for it and the design is my last thing on the todo list so if somebody wants to email me any designs then just send them to dirty.pool@gmail.com ..

ive got the "unfinished" code still on my localhost dehas and im still finishing it off ..

i tryed using the wordpress theme engine and thats didnt go down to well lol

ive tryed a couple of other theme engines but some was abit lacking so im just currently working on the old torrentsrike theme engine to try and make it better to work with :)

im still sorting out the website and need to buy the domain name yet but i want to have the source in beta stage before i open up the site to save all the "when is it ready" questions :)

ive got some of the forum split up into different files so the forum isnt just made up as 1 file "forum.php" so that is going well :)

something like this will take time and it never can be done in a couple of week and ive spent alot of time on it so far so its not a case of not being worked on :)

im still looking for new design though since i think a new design would be nice for the next version :P

im currently also trying to keep it xhtml throughout but the more i spend on it the harder its becoming to keep it that way lol

i'll update you once ive got some more finished on it :)

I'm running multistrike with XBTT. (10000 users, 30000 torrents)

and I'm searching for integrating with wordpress or vbulletin4 or IPB3.

I can give my xbt information if you help integrating that.
