Installation error

A critical error has occured. Could not connect to the database server at 'empty' with the supplied username and password.
Are you sure the hostname and user details are correct?
Could not select the database 'empty'.
Are you sure it exists and the specified username and password have access to it?
There seems to be one or more errors with the database configuration information that you supplied. Click here to to back step 2.

But it pass step 2 fine ..

and i did serval users in mysql to try but is always the same

kralle 14th July 2012 21:03

it says
Database configuration has been saved successfully.

and then the error ...

well thx for nothing

joeroberts 14th July 2012 22:04

that sql error says your not setting a pass word
are you?
is your config file writable?
are the users your creating have create writes?
Have you created a data base for the sql to go into?

If you do a sql import you stand a good chance at it not working properly because the install don't only do the data base it also creates your config file.

all my files are set same the guide says to do .

and i did a user in phpmyadmin and filled out all the info i got asked :/

joeroberts 15th July 2012 15:17

your error is from you not creating a data base and leaving the data base info empty

Could not select the database 'empty'.
or simply leaving the data base name blank in setup.
